Pakistan’s First Govt Autism School To Give Free Treatment To Students

  • This week, the Punjab government announced an Autism School in Lahore
  • Help to release the financial burden of parents for teaching children with autism
The main focus is to make special kids, special heroes of Pakistan. The government is all set to enhance special education centers in Punjab. Collectively as a strong nation Pakistan, we all have to emphasize accepting these children and helping them develop their learning to run their lives in the future.
Autism school is at the final stages of construction and expected to be completed in a given timeframe of one year. It will offer schooling and treatment for students dealing with autism. Already 10 autism centers are working in Punjab but this school will be the first solely dedicated to Autism.



The Project Monitor Manager, Sania Ashiq has been appointed to look for all requirements that the necessary to be fulfilled before opening.
9206 assistive devices have been distributed among special students including:


 
  • 7720 hearing aids,
  • 360 wheelchairs,
  • 500 white canes (sticks for blinds),
  • 344 crutches, and
  • 300 walkers
Almost 35 special schools are upgraded with skills, necessities, medical and teaching staff, and 28 special schools have transformed into centers of excellence.
