Concerns Raised During the PAC Meeting
Many concerns were raised in this meeting and all are mentioned below:
Financial Irregularities and Mismanagement
PAC Chairman Nisar Khuhro was not satisfied with the financial management in all 9 boards of Sindh. The Sindh government is allocating around 2 million annually for free education up to the intermediate level and is concerned with transparency in the allocation of that amount.
Khusro State, ‘the Sindh boards are facing an accusation of awarding top grades in exchange for money that undermines students’ performance in entry tests’
Result Manipulation Allegations
Growing concerns over the integrity of the examination system
Top grades have been granted in exchange for financial incentives
Demand for an investigation of the marking system
PAC member Khurram Karim Soomro mentioned former BIEK chairman Amir Qadri, who was removed due to allegations of result tampering.
PAC’s Commitment to Transparency and Accountability
To address these concerns, auditing of last year is being decided. Chairman Khuhro emphasized that the board's audit will be as rigorous and tough as the special audit conducted for Gorakh Hill.
The audit aims to:
Ensure fairness assessment
Restore public trust
Hold accountable for responsible financial mismanagement
Conduct strict exams and grade policies
