· The Sindh government has announced easy qualification requirements for the appointment of VC at government universities.
· The new declaration has removed the Sindh domicile requirement.
· The required number of research publications has been reduced from 15 to 10.
· HEC set the standard at 15 research papers for professors.
Advertisements for VC positions have been made public for Dow University of Medical and Health Sciences, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University Skrand, and other institutions.
The current eligibility Criteria are written below:
· PhD was “Mandatory” before but is now “Preferable”.
· Master’s degree holders in 21st Grade eligible.
· The maximum age limit is 62 years for Sindh
· The maximum age limit is 65 for Federal, Punjab, KPK, AJK, and Balochistan Govt.
· 10 years experience at the administrative level of Grade 17.
· The teaching experience has been eliminated.
· Cadre officers applying based on civil service experience, have to resign or retire upon selection as VC.
Deadlines for Applicants:
The deadline is 28th March and President Asif Ali Zardari has ordered CM Sindh to remove the requirement for Sindh domicile for the VC position.
