A new program to educate children of convicted prisoners. This is the first of its kind initiative in the country taken by the Sindh provincial government.
At Karachi Central Prison, a launch ceremony was organized for Education Minister Sardar Ali Shah and Prisons Minister Hasan Ali Zardari.
They announced that 4,684 convicted prisoners’ children of Sindh will receive educational support from primary level to university.

The basic aim is to prevent children from being deprived of education because of their parents’ conviction. Minister Sardar Shah highlighted that children must not agonize due to their parents’ actions. This ensures that the government is responsible for the education of the children. This is a setting example to provide children with full support education in private or public schools.
Admission letters are issued to 100 children and data collected from 2,638. The initiative involves educational and vocational training for juvenile inmates.
