Punjab To Give Skills Training To 100,000 Youngsters

Governing over a meeting on Punjab’s skilled manpower export plan, CM Punjab set a target of training and securing job placements for 100,000 youngsters.
Officials are directed to develop a comprehensive plan for sending skilled workers abroad and priority access to business cards and loans for trained individuals.
To support youth in remote areas, a new program is launching “Skills on Wheel” in partnership with the private sector. The CM has approved several new initiatives, such as ‘plug and play’ call center system.
5,000 youths will receive call center training of six-week, participants can secure jobs earning approximately Rs 100,000 per month.
Empowering Women Through Training

  • Almost 480 women will receive training at the Garment Training Institute in Quaid-i-Azam Business Park.

  • Trainees will benefit from pick-and-drop facilities and a stipend of Rs 20,000 per month.

  • Participants will be sent to large textile groups for employment.


     

Expanding IT & Skills Development Initiatives
Punjab Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Secretary Nadir Chattha stated,
“All skill development institutions have been merged under one department. 4,000 young students have completed international IT certifications, expected to expand this to 10,000 participants.”
British institution collaborated in a six-month free hospitality training program to arrange job placements for graduates.
Additionally, 1,600 transgenders have completed skills training in

  • Textile

  • Makeup

  • backstage production


     

They all received a stipend of Rs 8,000 per month.
Meanwhile, 27,000 applications received for a rural women digital training program to provide them free laptops, desktops, and English and IT trainings.
The Punjab Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Department will go live by mid-April to modernize these initiatives.
Immediate Reversal of Double-Decker Bus Fare Hike
An immediate push back of the Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP) fare increase for double-decker sightseeing buses. The fare hike notification was withdrawn and restored previous ticket prices.
