In India, a government employee who was caught accepting a bribe was found to have taken 5,000 rupees. According to reports in the Indian media, during an anti-corruption campaign against government officials in the state of Madhya Pradesh, a person reported that Patwari Gajendra Singh was demanding a bribe from the team of special police establishment.
The police officials stated that Patwari received the bribe money in his private office and as soon as the police team reached the location, he swallowed the notes. Gajendra Singh was immediately taken to the hospital after swallowing the notes, where he was examined and found to be in good health. A case has been registered against Patwari Gajendra Singh, and further investigations are underway.
