LAW-GAT Test Date 2023

Great news for aspiring lawyers, legal consultants, and prosecutors! The long-awaited Law Gat test, which marks the beginning of your professional practice, has finally been scheduled by HEC. The latest Law Gat test date for 2023 is tentatively set for June 25th. The test will be conducted at multiple Law Gat exam centers nationwide. In case of any changes or delays in the Law Gat Test schedule, candidates will be promptly notified through their HEC online portal, as well as via SMS or email.


 

Who Can Apply for Law GAT Test?

Applicants who have successfully completed their bachelor's degree in Law or possess an equivalent qualification from a university or institute recognized by HEC/PBC are eligible to apply.

The passing marks for the Law Graduate Assessment

To successfully clear the Law Graduate Assessment Test (Law-GAT), candidates must achieve the passing marks determined by HEC (Higher Education Commission). As per HEC guidelines, the Law-GAT passing marks are set at 50%. In other words, candidates need to obtain a minimum of 50 marks out of the total 100 MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions) in order to clear the test. HEC grants candidates a maximum of 5 attempts to clear the Law-GAT test. It's important to note that these guidelines are subject to the latest information and official announcements by HEC, so it's advisable to stay updated with the most recent guidelines and regulations.

The Law Graduate Assessment Test (Law-GAT) examination centers

HEC organizes the Law Graduate Assessment Test (Law-GAT) exclusively for law graduates each year. For the current year, the Law-GAT test will be administered in 13 major cities across Pakistan. Candidates have the opportunity to select their preferred examination center and city when completing the Law-GAT test application form. It's important to note that once an exam center is chosen and the application is submitted, it cannot be changed. The following cities have been selected by HEC as examination centers for the Law-GAT test:

  5. Faisalabad
  6. Gilgit
  7. Gujrat
  8. Hyderabad

To register for the Law Graduate Assessment Test (Law-GAT) 2023, follow these steps:

  1. Visit the HEC ETC portal website and locate the sign-up section for creating an account.
  2. Provide your personal details, such as your name, CNIC number, phone number, and email address, as required during the account creation process.
  3. If you encounter any difficulties or have questions while setting up your account, you can visit www.onlinehelp.hec.gov.pk for assistance. Alternatively, you can visit the HEC Secretariat or contact the HEC regional office for guidance.
  4. Once you have successfully created your HEC ETC portal account, log in to your account.
  5. Access the online application portal and navigate to the "Law GAT Test 2023" section, typically found in the left-hand side menu panel.
  6. Fill out the Law GAT 2023 application form with the required information accurately and completely.
  7. Download the Bank Fee Challan from the ETC online registration portal page by clicking the "Fee Challan " button.
  8. Submit the test fee of Rs. 3000/- by depositing it in the designated account: Account No. 01127900567403, Account Title: Higher Education Commission, Bank Name: Habib Bank Limited, Branch Code: 0112.
  9. While completing the application form, upload the paid and scanned challan receipt that has been duly stamped by an HBL branch.
  10. Note that the test fee is non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances.
  11. Once you have filled out the Law GAT Test application and uploaded the required documents, press the "Submit" button to successfully submit your application.
  12. It's important to complete the application process in its entirety and not leave it in the save mode, as only completed and submitted applications will be considered for the test.

Important Instructions for the LAW GAT Test:

  1. Notification of Date Change: In the event of a change in the LAW GAT test date due to unforeseen circumstances, students will be notified through their portal. HEC will also send SMS and emails to relevant candidates to communicate the revised test date.
  2. Downloading Roll Number Slip: Candidates who have registered through the HEC online registration process can download their LAW GAT Roll Number Slip from the HEC ETC online portal and their registered email address. The roll number slip will be available for download at least one week before the test date.
  3. Test Date, Time, and Venue Communication: Applicants will receive email and SMS notifications containing details about the test date, time, and venue of the exam.
  4. Updated Contact Information: While filling out the online application forms, candidates must provide their currently in-use email and mobile numbers to receive their roll number slips and test updates.
  5. Required Documents on Test Day: To enter the Test Centre on the Test Day, candidates must bring a printed LAW GAT Roll Number Slip, the original paid Fee Challan, and their original CNIC (National Identity Card).
  6. Application Submission Deadline: The last date to submit the LAW GAT test application is 12th June 2023.
  7. Tentative Test Date: The tentative date for the LAW GAT 2023 is 25th June 2023.
  8. Exam Centers: The LAW GAT test will be conducted in major cities across Pakistan. Candidates can select their preferred examination hall from the available center list in the application form. However, the test will be held in any listed exam center if at least 250 candidates select that center.
