Haqooq ul Ibad – Duties Towards Mankind in Islam
Islam is not just a religion but in fact it is a way of living. As the relation of Man and Allah the almighty and our duties towards his dignity have the utmost importance in Islam, the duties towards mankind are also described in a comprehensive manner in Quran and Hadees.
Good Behavior with Parents:-
As we discuss duties of a Muslim towards mankind, the most essential and natural relation of a person is between him and his parents. As a Muslim it is our duty to always obey our parents and never try to berate them in any case. One is allowed to talk and ask about anything in a very calm manner.
As a Muslim we should always respect our parents and specially our mother. Prophet Muhammad (SAAW) once said that the biggest right on a Muslim man is of his mother. It is also our duty to take care our father so as he did with us when he was young.
Rights of Husband and Wife on each other:-
Husband and wife is a beautiful relation. According to the teaching of Islam both should care each other and also live with patience and love. It is utmost duty of a Muslim woman to obey his husband and respect him always. On the other hand it is essential responsibility of husband to give his wife the respect she deserves and fulfill his needs. The man is also responsible to arrange resources to bring up his children and the whole family.
Rights of Poor and Orphan:-
Islamic system gives a fair protection to the poor and needy people of the society. The system of Zakat is a clear example where people help and give share from their income to poor and needy ones. In this way the distribution of wealth remains in control and deprived people get their right and can fulfill their needs of household.
Same is for child who is orphan and lost his father in the early age, Islam asks his close relatives to take special care of that child and always keep the fear of Allah in the heart and mind while dealing the matters of Orphan.
Respect for Teachers:-
According to Islamic rules and traditions, teachers are known as a guide of the nation and are highly respectful. Prophet Muhammad (SAAW) has said that     “He is the best among you who learn Quran and that teach to others.” It is our greater responsibility to give the level of respect and honor to our teachers which they highly deserve.
Rights of Neighbors and Patients:-
It is a vital responsibility of a Muslim to be in good relations with his neighbors. In any emergency situation, it is our neighbor who first comes to our help. We should be trying to help our neighbors if they are facing any crises situation.
It is also important for a Muslim to go to his Muslim brother who is ill. In this way the patient feels better and thankful when he sees people around him just for his care and help.
It is the beauty of Islam that it covers all aspects of life while giving respect to the humanity without any discrimination.
