Laylat al Qadr (or the Night of Power) is said to be one of the odd numbered nights in the last 10 days of Ramadan on which verses from the Holy Quran were revealed to the Last Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Among the 21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th and 29th day of Ramadan any one night can be the Night of Power on which blessings rain down upon Muslims who offers prayer and ask for forgiveness.
BeEducated.pk wants you to know that Hazrat Aisha (R.A) stated that Prophet (PBUH) said, “Look for Laylat al-Qadr in the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramadan.” (Al-Bukhari)
Also the Holy Quran describes this Night of Decree as, “Better than a thousand months”. That is the reason offering prayers (nawafil), reciting Quran, asking for forgiveness (Istaghfar), or worshipping Allah in any way on Laylat al Qadr is better than a thousand months of worshiping that did not have the night of power.
Follow the tips written below to let Allah offer all His blessings and forgiveness to you on the Night of Decree:
1. Stay in I’tikaf
I’tikaf is the best practice to capture all the blessings of the night of power. Because a person is supposed to be worshiping Allah by offering Nawafil, reciting Quran and Hadith. Also, both males and females can stay in I’tikaf, so it’s beneficial for all Muslims no matter their gender. If it’s possible to stay in I’tikaf for 10 days and nights then that is best but if not then you should try to remain in I’tikaf as many night as possible.
2. Worship Every Night in Last 10 Days
As no set date is described you should try to worship in all last ten days of Ramadan. So, you cannot miss out on the blessing of the night of decree. The reward of worshiping Allah in these nights is greater than you can ever achieve, even if you spend your whole life doing good deeds.
3. Make This Special Dua
Hazrat Aisha (R.A) stated when I asked Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), “If I find Lailatul Qadr then what I should do?” The in reply to my question Prophet (PBUH) said, “Recite this Dua: ALLAH HUMMA INNAKA A’FUVUN TOHIB BUL A'FVA FA’AFU 'ANNI”
The dua translates to, “O Allah! You are the Forgiver and You like forgiving so forgive me.”
So you should try to make this dua as much as possible in the last nights of Ramadan.
4. Recite the Quran
Reciting the holy Quran at any time of the day holds many rewards according to the teaching of Islam. Therefore, during Laylat ul Qadr it is given even more importance. So, you should recite Quran and Hadith and do Zikr to receive blessings of Allah in limitless quantity.
5. Do Other Good Deeds
Worshiping Allah is not about offering prayer and reciting verses from the holy Quran but you can also give charity to the needy and poor. You can look upon your short comings and make plans to act better towards other creatures made by Allah.
Please keep in mind that every small good deed is rewarded like you have been doing it for over 83 years. Nothing is insignificant when it comes to performing good deeds in the last ten days and nights of Ramadan. Thus, in this holy month make sure to follow all these tips to gain the favour of Allah in Laylat al-Qadr. If you don’t know the formula of staying healthy throughout Ramadan then it can be difficult to worship Allah in these blessed nights.
